UPRISING DEVOTIONAL 21

“O GOD, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is. So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving- kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. So will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.”

Psalm 63:1-4 AMP

At times life can feel like a dry and weary land. A land effected by a spiritual drought. The atmosphere feels dry where we feel personally and spiritually dehydrated. The solution to this is to seek out the refreshing. We must not accept the dryness or allow it to make us faint, make us quit, or make us give up.

On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Know this: God is God, and God, God. He made us; we didn’t make him. We’re his people, his well-tended sheep. Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. For God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever.

Worship is what we are made for and there is no way out of it. Whether our worship is offered to God or to something else, we will worship. We must be aware of what sits in our heart’s seat of honor and make sure that it is what is most worthy of our worship. (more…)
